Looking for the perfect board for summer? We have tons! Summer time means mush (in most places) so you’re gonna need something special to keep up on the swells (and lulls) of summer. Here are our top 5 boards for summer for the 2016 season.
1. Muffin Top
The Muffin Top is a board that will maximize your fun on sloppy days while serving you well when the conditions clean up. We've cherry picked the past to combine a proven full outline, boxy rails and clean curve to produce a maximum planing area design. Our lowest rocker vehicle, this is a wide squash with corners. The flat deck and angular rails pay homage to the "surf skates" of the past, but the modern bottom combination of a light roll in the nose, with a single to double concave that ends with a light fee off the tail, gives the Muffin Top everything necessary for a modern approach to groveling.
2. Heckler
New for 2016, the Heckler is a Fish with some new ideas. We've utilized a "fishy" outline with a shallow dovetail and pronounced wing to produce a lightening fast small wave wonder. The proven Venturi bottom design that has been so well received on two of our other models, the Rooster and the Hustler, adds a new dimension for fishing and Fish lovers.
3. Smoothie
We have re-tooled the versatile design of our very popular model, the Piranha, with a clean, full, round pin, and are calling it the Smoothie. It has a timeless outline designed to accommodate a wide range of conditions. The bottom starts with a slight roll in the nose transitioning to a light single through the center. This shallow single blends into a sunken double concave in front of the fins and an elevated double concave between the fins that finally ends in a double barrel vee of the tail. If you can’t appreciate the tech talk, just know that the board surfs fast & smooth.
4. Dwart
This board literally walks on water. Better yet, runs on water. Were talking easy paddling, a fast ride, effortless glide, and lip blasting vertical capabilities, all packed into one board. The Dwart takes the basic elements of a modern fish and fuses them with a few high-performance design techniques to take it to the next level. You want a board that does it all? The Dwart is the best yet.
5. Fish Quatro
The Fish Quatro opens up the performance window of the traditional fish while keeping the basic fish values, speed and floatation intact. Combining a full rail and outline, with a single to double concave bottom with V off the tail gives this board more skate, flow, vertical performance, and tighter arcs than any fish. This unique model is also available with a concave deck that more than makes up for the decreased width. Every quiver needs a Fish!
Getting your gills riding on one of these blades is sure to get you a summer full of success and fun!
