My Rooster is a custom 5' 8" at 31L Torsion Spring! I highly recommend this board and build! I've used it every day for the last three months and it works in everything. It skates across flat sections and holds when there is power. The Torsion Spring has a fantastic feel! It's lively, responsive and predictable. The outline of the rooster is very sexy and the rails are a dream come true! When you grab the rail to turn for a wave, it feels strong and instills confidence. On top of all this, it paddles amazingly and the entry rocker lets you in early. I will definitely order another Torsion Spring for my next board. There is a lot of construction technology to choose from theses days, but I feel like Rusty nailed the flex and durability while maintaining a crafted feel. Thanks again Team Rusty
Surfing for 30 years and this was my first Rusty. I don't typically buy boards off the rack, but saw this thing in a local shop and it felt good under the arm. Love this board as a daily driver; works in small to medium size waves and as well as flatter-face waves to punchier beachbreak (San Clemente).
Noticed the sweet promotion/sale you guys were running on the rooster. Ordered the board 1 week before I was leaving the country for good. Placed call the next day and mentioned that I would really appreciate board being shipped asap. 3 days later my rooster arrived in Nor-Cal in perfect condition. Brand new board for a steal of price. So stoked. Surfed it everyday in Nicaragua since. Great all around shape. Thank you very much RUSTY crew.
Thing works amazing for me in everyday So Cal up to fun size Hawaii. Paddles really well, I have the 5'11" stock dims, I'm 185 6'1" that's over 40. Flies down the line AND is very maneuverable. Full package in one board. PS- I tried quad and it was OK, switched it to a thruster ( AM 2's) and it made a huge difference. Play around with fin set up!
Got a 5'7 (I weigh about 160 lbs) and it's one of my all time favorite shapes. Like it in everything up to about 7-8 foot and strongly prefer quad setup. Snappy, drivey, holds nicely in bigger/steeper sections, only breaks free/slides when you push it off, and can handle some tough drops. Super reliable. Will definitely get another when the one I have now dies.
